FTF Publishes Holiday Shopping Guide

The Fair Trade Federation (FTF) has published its biggest Holiday Shopping Guide yet, featuring more than 100 products from 70+ Fair Trade businesses. All of the gifts in this guide are sold by members of the Fair Trade Federation– businesses and organizations that are fully committed to Fair Trade and follow the Fair Trade Principles in every one of their business decisions.

Canadian Fair Trade Network Opens Membership & Conference Registration

The Canadian Fair Trade Network (CFTN) announced the formal opening of membership as well as registration to the Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Fair Trade Conference in Calgary on January 11th, 2013.

CFTN welcomes public involvement through membership and participation at the Annual General Meeting and conference as it works to strengthen the Fair Trade movement in Canada.

People can sign up to become a member http://cftn.ca/membership and join CFTN in Calgary in January by registering http://cftn.ca/annual-general-meeting-event-information-registration. CFTN says “Your attendance and ability to participate in this meeting is welcomed regardless of your membership status, though membership is encouraged so you hold voting rights and are eligible to run for the board (subject to the bylaws).”

Hershey Plans to Use Only Certified Cocoa by 2020

After more than two years of “Raise the Bar Hershey” Campaign calling on Hershey to address child labor issues in its supply chain, Hershey announced yesterday it will be going 100% certified by 2020. Hershey’s commitment is both monumental and necessary, however, they remain vague on which certifications, and on their timeline/benchmarks for achieving this.
