In addition to underwriting fair trade, shoppers will learn about 130 affiliated artisan groups in 36 countries in Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Middle East.
Among the holiday and year-round gift items for sale will be hand-painted ceramics, intricately woven basketry, and handmade jewelry.
Gift items will be provided through Ten Thousand Villages, a 60-year-old fair trade retailer that maintains long-term buying relationships in places where skilled artisans lack opportunities for stable incomes. All artisans will be paid fairly from the sale’s proceeds.
